Music videos can easily turn out predictable and boring which is doubly bad since viewers might not only switch off to the video itself, they may switch off to the music too. The reverse, of course, is also true — think of the great music videos you have watched in your life and consider the extent to which the success of certain songs hinged on the appeal of accompanying videos.
Terry Moore’s video above is a good example. His main platform for launching his album was Facebook and the video was received well there as part of the album launch. Facebook itself is a great platform for communicating with fans and promotions but its video-handling is actually dire — their compression algorithm (which you have zero control over) is is brutally destructive.
